I'm reading "Gate To Women's Country" again. I had an epiphany, when I read it a dozen years or so ago, and I can remember the epiphany but not the words that inspired it. I'm going to highlight it this time.
My cars odometer.
We bought this car, a Toyota 4-Runner, on Guam in 1985.
Over the last 19 years, each family member has had a turn
at it being their primary means of transportation.
She's (the car) been good to us and is now in semi-retirement.
She just takes me to work and back every day now.

I was listening to a segment of All Things Considered and George Lakoff said that Democrats don't get that people don't vote their self interests, they vote their identity and values. So even if they've lost their job, retirement, and home because of Bush, they will still vote for him again. Even if they have spent many nights praying that their son would come home safe from Iraq (and they know there is no good reason for him to be there) they would give Bush 4 more years. Why? Because, they too, want to be a cowboy?
I know people personally that this theory applies to. I'm just afraid to think too hard about how they identify with this lying bully.

This guy got 10% of the votes in Oklahoma in the Republican primary.
He was the only one on the ticket besides Bush.
Other little known candidates might put "the crunch" on the competition.

How Conceited Am I?
Well, I'll tell you. The only thing they got wrong is that I damn sure am the go-to person when something needs to be done! ;>
thanks to Daisy, Kimberly, Ellen, and Zee. I stopped following the link as soon as I found someone that matched exactly to me. I wonder if Zee and I were separated at birth.

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well. Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion. Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything. |

G of Bad Marriage Blog asks us to send him the link to any blog we think might belong to his wife. It would be funny if it were Daisy.
