Friday, Ashcroft's spokesman blamed the FBI, and the FBI admitted claims that terrorists were 90 percent ready to attack came not from al-Qaida, but from the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades’ statements.

Terrorism experts say that the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigade could be "one guy with a fax machine" and has claimed to be responsible every strange and bad thing that has happened in the U.S. except the cicada invasion.

“Portraying this group seriously is simply a reflection of the FBI's continued failures since 9/11 to basically develop an analytic capability at headquarters in assessing terrorist intelligence,”(terrorism expert and NBC analyst) Emerson said.

Well, I don't really think the FBI is under orders to "develop an analytic capability at headquarters in assessing terrorist intelligence". I think they are under orders to distract from what a colossal, incompetent failure, the President is. They're pretty much sucking at that too.
